18 Feb How to enable Instagram & Facebook Shopping for your Business
Instagram Shopping is becoming more and more difficult to enable today, because of the Facebook Commerce Policies & Shop Integrations, but not impossible!
In this post, I will go through all the steps that you need to do in order to enable your Facebook Shop & Instagram Product Tagging feature on your profile, be able to tag items in your posts, stories & reels, as well as Create Unique Collections for your Shop. Let’s get started!
WHY YOU NEED TO ENABLE INSTAGRAM SHOPPING
SHOPPABLE POSTS, STORIES, REELS
People will be able to simply click on your Profile and Shop your Products, so by enabling this feature you are making your products more accessible to your audience and improving their Shopping experience.
SHOP TAB
Your products will appear in the Shop tab, so when people will look for products such as yours, they will find your posts, in which products are being tagged & be able to shop them.
ESTABLISHED BRAND ON INSTAGRAM
This feature will help you demonstrate trustworthiness and bring more dedicated followers & customers to your business.
HOW TO ENABLE INSTAGRAM & FACEBOOK SHOPPING
Here are the things you need for this Feature to be possible:
- A Facebook Page for your Business
- A Professional Instagram Account for your Business (A Business one preferably, not a Creator one)
- A website or platform where you sell your Products (I suggest having a website with your own Domain for the best results)
- A Facebook Business/Commerce Manager
- A Facebook Catalog with your Products (at least 10 to begin with).
If you want to follow the Video Tutorial version of this Post, you can watch any of the two videos below. If not, continue with reading this post!
BUILD An established presence on instagram & facebook
If you want this feature to be successful and your Commerce Account to be reviewed and Accepted (if it is rejected, it is a lot harder to re-appeal), you will need to make sure that your Instagram Followers are sufficient (I recommend at least 300-500) & your Facebook Likes as well (I suggest at least 150-300 Facebook Page Likes & Grow the Engagement).
Important: DO NOT buy followers or likes. This will make this feature impossible to enable, as their system catches onto this immediately.
Verify your website domain
Another important step that you want to make sure to do first is to verify your Website Domain in the right Business Manager (That also hosts your Facebook Catalog, Page & Instagram Account).
Go to Business Tools – Brand Safety & Domains. Add your domain there, then select your desired method to verify your domain.

CREATE YOUR PRODUCTS CATALOG
And add 10 products manually, so you can get approved. Once you get approved, you can install a Pixel or integrate your Website for automatic products upload.
In this video, I explain everything about Facebook Business Manager & Products upload.
check products errors & fix them
Before applying for this feature, be sure that non of your Products have errors in your Catalog. This can help you prevent your Commerce Account rejection.
In this video, I explain everything about Products Errors and How to fix them.
AN OPTIMIZED COMMERCE ACCOUNT
Is what will ultimately help you get approved for this feature. So be sure to check every single thing mentioned in the videos below before applying for this feature!
Apply for the shopping feature
The Shopping option is no longer available in your Instagram App unless it is already approved. So, the only method available to apply for this feature is now from your Facebook Commerce Manager – Shops. In this Video, I share exactly how to do this, in two different ways. Check it out!
